All shred centres are fully monitored by 24-hour CCTV. All material collected from customers is destroyed within 24 hours and there is a full audit trail from collection through to destruction.
A Certificate of Destruction is provided detailing the full chain of custody and audit trail satisfying that reasonable measures under Principle 7 of the Data Protection Act 1998. All shredding services are in line with the European standard for information destruction EN15713. At On Time Shred all of our staff are vetted to BS7858, as well as full CRB checks and regular training.
Yes. Customers are welcome to visit the centre as frequently as required. For the purpose of security this needs to be prearranged and a non disclosure agreement will need to be signed. Customers can also accompany their material in the collection vehicle for dedicated collections.
Alternatively, customers can elect to use the onsite shredding service where they can view the destruction on their own premises.
The shredded paper is compressed into 1,000kg bales and sent to paper mills for recycling. This paper is then converted into new products ranging from writing and printing paper through to tissues and toilet paper.
No. All metal and plastic items are removed during the shredding and recycling process with screens and magnets.
Can I place data tapes, hard drives, CDs and IT media into the shredding bins or shredding cabinets?
No. You will require one of our specific media bins, dual cabinets or shredding bags which are for these types of materials.
Yes. No collection is too small or too large.
Yes. As long as they are secure and not going to split during our collection service. However, we can provide you with our own shredding bags and security seals.
Yes. As long as we are notified in advance.
Yes. A key can be assigned to a specific individual within the organisation on either a permanent or temporary basis.
Yes. We have a variety of sizes and colours to suit all business environments.
No. On Time Shred’s staff are happy to collect or empty them from their fixed locations. However, some customers prefer to centralise their bins prior to collection.
Yes. On Time Shred’s collection vehicles operate 24 hours a day if required.
